- Collect packing materials in advance. Boxes, wardrobe boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, newspapers, foam, polystyrene. You will need lots of it, your removals company might even help with the task.
- Make a plan! Whether this is room by room or area by area, break it down and plan a schedule then stick to it. Make your packing task manageable and feel good about ticking off each stage.
- Arrange and start packing your items as soon as possible. Anything you are not likely to use, things that are out of season and rooms you use least. As you get closer to removal day have everything packed except the day to day essentials.
- Keep items together according to what room they will be moved to, also keep similar items together as much as possible, like electrical items.
- Clearly Mark any items or boxes as fragile so during your removal your movers will know to take extra care.
