When boredom strikes, we try many new things to get our minds working again. Even when we are not bored, and actually have a lot on our plates, there are some creative projects that we really want to do but never know where to start. So with a hectic schedule, we ignore it and move on. Below are three cool projects you should squeeze into your schedule and some tips on where to start!
Remodeling the house
Now as large as this may sound, you do not have to take up on the entire house all at once! You can start with something relatively small, like your bathroom for instance, especially if you have more than one. This is something that will not take up a huge part of your time especially if you do your research on how you can do a bath remodel beautifully. You can start by writing a list of things that you need to have for the remodel, and get started, and it should take no more than a week.
Upgrade your workspace
When we are home, it can be very hard to actually get to work. Therefore, upgrading your workspace with some DIY hacks can be really helpful. Even though they will be small projects, they are still part of the larger mission which is to upgrade your workspace. One thing you can create is a magnetic desktop set. A lot of times we are looking frantically for a pin, or a clip for some reason or another, and if the box they come in breaks, or is just hard to keep opening and closing, it can be a hassle to get those shiny objects in one place. You can buy a shell, created out of cardboard, a magnetic filling hidden in the shell, paint the shell, and voila, you have got yourself a handy little tool that can hold all the small sharp objects in one place. You can also knit a piece of fabric around an old cup or bowl to put your pens and pencils in; glow in the dark cups that hold your glasses that can be created with glow in the dark paint, and so on, the list is never ending!
Outdoors projects
The outdoors is a great place to just enjoy your time and relax, but it can also be a place to unleash your inner creative dragon. If you have got a garden, or a walkway, there are many things that you could upgrade with your own two hands. If you feel your walkway is too boring, you can upgrade it by buying pebbles and making a pebble mosaic walkway – those can be created in any shape you desire with many inspirations online. Of course, the obvious one is to build a treehouse, but if you do not have a large enough tree to house a tree house, then you can build a mini ground house? Basically a small gazebo or a shack with windows to let in sunlight is a cool project to get started on that will take time, but will most probably be worth it.
It’s very easy to become overwhelmed with the amount of things that take up your day, whether it’s work or the home. But it is crucial that every once in a while, you make time for any given DIY project so that you have a sense of balance in your life. It gives you a sense of accomplishment, brings you together with friends and family, and also helps you build up skills you never knew you could be capable of!
